Moles

Description
Moles are 120-160mm long with a velvet like fur, its front fore feet are disproportionately large and turned out for digging. Living in the dark of their tunnels they have very poor eye sight, as such their eyes are small and under their fur. Moles do not transmit diseases the main damage in the domestic situation is aesthetic.
What to look for
The obvious sign is the mole hill; other signs include the raised hump of surface tunnels or as you walk over the grass hollows forming beneath your feet.
Consequences
The main consequence are the unsightly mole hills around your garden these can cause the grass beneath to die off, the tunnels can produce unevenness across the garden resulting in sprained ankles, trips and falls.
If the moles are in your flower beds they can cause plants to wilt or die.
